Taking Flight In Arm Balances with Aldys Kong

  • Yoga Seeds Shala 1384 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 Singapore, 569932 Singapore (map)

Introducing our new Fridays at the Shala series, where we invite you to join us in the exploration of extended 90 minute classes which include both class types within our usual class offerings, as well as more meditative experiences. These sessions are usually scheduled once a month on Fridays at 7.15pm, and may differ in timing if it falls on a Public Holiday. Yoga Seeds members may attend these sessions with a valid pass.

Join us for a special 90-minute practice led by Aldys, focusing on strength, balance, and the art of taking flight through arm balances—approached with curiosity, play, and care.

This extended session invites you to move beyond the familiar, building steady strength and body awareness as we break down challenging poses into accessible steps. With Aldys’ warm and encouraging guidance, you’ll be supported to explore, fall, try again, and discover what becomes possible when effort meets ease.

Rather than chasing shapes, the emphasis is on process over perfection—learning to trust your foundation, engage intelligently, and find moments of lightness within challenge. Expect space to explore, rest, and reconnect, all held within the intimate and grounding atmosphere of the shala.

Open to practitioners with a regular practice who are curious to build strength, balance, and confidence.

About Aldys Kong

Aldys picked up yoga in 2014 as a complementary exercise to her usual running and cycling routine as it helped her slow down, build strength and improve her range of motion & flexibility. As she deepened her regular practice over the years and began learning more about mindfulness and yoga philosophy, she began to notice positive changes in her approach to life. Naturally, she grew to appreciate yoga beyond its physical benefits and found herself increasingly curious about the practice.

She then went on the journey to deepen her holistic knowledge of yoga through her very first 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training. Her curiosity didn't stop there, and she went on to explore Wheel Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Adaptive Chair Yoga, and eventually completed her 300-hr Advanced Teacher Training with Yoga Seeds. She hasn't looked back since!

Yoga has proven to be a practice that is beneficial to Aldys, both in body and mind. She wishes to share her knowledge and practice with her students in hopes that the practice can benefit people in a meaningful way, just as it has for her. Her passion for inclusivity in yoga shines through in her classes, which are a delightful combination of accessible, strong, and fun.
