  • Hatha

    Pace: Moderate
    Style: Balanced
    Benefits: Improves stability, strength and flexibility through static holds

    Hatha is a classical practice focusing on longer holds in static postures. The intention of this class is to create a holistic practice for the practitioner with a focus on preparing the body and mind for deeper postures.

    This class is open to all levels, and teachers may include workshop time to experiment with new postures.

  • Flow

    Pace: Fast
    Style: Dynamic
    Benefits: Exploration of deeper poses and transitions, improves stamina, strength and flexibility

    Flow is a dynamic vinyasa-based practice. The intention of this class is to connect breath with movement for the practitioner to explore rhythm and fluidity through mindful transitions.

    This class is open to all levels, and options may be provided for regular practitioners to work on arm balances and inversions.

  • Alignment

    Pace: Moderate
    Style: Balanced
    Benefits: Gain body and breath awareness, builds foundational understanding

    Alignment is a foundational practice focusing on safe alignment for your unique body. The intention of this class is for the practitioner to gain a clearer understanding of how to safely set up for postures and find stability in them.

    This class is open to all levels, and is a great place to start if you are new to yoga.

  • Ashtanga

    Pace: Fast
    Style: Dynamic
    Benefits: Improves focus, discipline, strength, stability and stamina

    Ashtanga is a traditional vinyasa-based fixed sequence. The intention of this class is to integrate three fundamental elements: breath (pranayama), energetic locks (bandha) and gaze (drishti). This invigorating practice covers the fundamental standing sequence, selected seated and closing postures of the Primary series.

    This class is recommended for practitioners with a vinyasa flow practice.

  • Universal Yoga

    Pace: Fast
    Style: Dynamic
    Benefits: Provides energetic boost, builds strength, flexibility, discipline and stamina

    Universal Yoga is a holistic practice that sequences various elements in a progressive manner, leaving practitioners with a strong sense of energetic balance after each practice. The intention of this class is to work on all koshas (shells) through the complete practice of asanas (physical shell), pranayama (energetic shell), visualisation, mantra, mudra and meditation (all other internal shells).

    This 75min class is recommended for practitioners with a vinyasa flow practice, and may be conducted in a cross-mat format.

  • MYRing Yoga

    Pace: Slow to Moderate
    Style: Balanced
    Benefits: Tension release and mental relaxation through myofascial release and massage

    MYRing is a uniquely designed yoga prop from Korea meant to aid practitioners in tension release through massage and asana. The intention of this class is to improve your strength & flexibility, correct body imbalances, and enjoy myofascial release through deep & effective stretching.

    This class is open to all levels, and is a great place to start if you are new to yoga.

  • Yin Yang

    Pace: Moderate
    Style: Balanced
    Benefits: Building strength and flexibility through both mindful movement and restful poses

    Yin Yang combines the dynamic quality of a flow practice and the introspective restful quality of a yin practice. Seen as the best of both worlds, this class offers the opportunity to connect to both yin energy (moon energy, passive, restful, compassionate), and yang energy (sun energy, active, dynamic, uplifting) to arrive at a grounded, meditative state.

    This class is open to all levels.

  • Yin

    Benefits: Stretches deep connective tissues, relaxation of mind and nervous system

    Yin is a grounding practice comprising long holds in restful postures. The intention of this class is to target the connective tissues, joints and ligaments within the body while slowing down the mind to restore energetic balance. You are welcome to three different Yin experiences: Sound (through singing bowls and chimes), Nidra (10-15min Yoga Nidra), and MFR (myofascial release).

    This class is open to all levels.

  • Sound Bath

    Pace: Slow
    Style: Grounding
    Benefits: Relaxation of mind and nervous system, restoring balance

    Sound healing is a form of vibrational medicine that helps to fine tune your system by restoring balance and activating your body’s natural healing abilities. During a Sound Bath, we initiate the Relaxation Response, allowing us to go into repair and recovery. Instruments like tibetan bowls, crystal bowls and swinging chimes will be used. You may choose to practice lying down or remain in seated meditation.

  • Mindful Breathwork

    Pace: Slow
    Style: Meditative
    Benefits: Reduces stress, calms the nervous system, and enhances physical and mental health.

    Mindful Breathwork is a weekly meditative practice. Learn grounding breathwork and gentle mindfulness techniques to support inner balance and plant the seeds of peace, clarity, and presence—one breath at a time.

  • Intuitive Art Journalling

    Pace: Slow
    Style: Therapeutic Art
    Benefits: Enhances creativity, self-expression and emotional health

    Engage in a reflective and creative experience through intuitive art journalling held fortnightly. This session encourages self-expression, mindfulness, and exploration using colors, textures, and mixed media. Free from rigid structures, it provides a space for artistic freedom and inner awareness.

  • Fridays at the Shala

    Pace: Varied
    Style: Meditative
    Benefits: Deeper understanding and appreciation of extended yoga practices

    In our Fridays at the Shala series, we invite you to join us in the exploration of extended 90 minute classes which include both class types within our usual class offerings, as well as more meditative experiences. These sessions are usually scheduled once a month on Fridays at 7.15pm.
