The Smile of the Heart – A Journey Through Japanese Tea Tradition with Urasenke Singapore

  • Bliss Room @ Project Seeds 1384 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 Singapore, 569932 Singapore (map)

In collaboration with Urasenke Singapore

Experience the timeless elegance of the Japanese tea ceremony in a truly serene setting—Project Seeds, nestled within the lush, award-winning Aramsa Spa in Bishan Park.

This special demonstration and hands-on workshop is led by Naoko Nakabayashi (Sochoku), a highly respected tea teacher from Urasenke Singapore. Nakabayashi-sensei has been deeply involved in tea ceremonies in Japan for many years. Since 2002, she has dedicated herself to teaching the younger generation in Singapore. She is also the organizer of an annual charity tea gathering held for over a decade and has given numerous lectures and demonstrations at Singapore Management University (SMU), schools, and cultural institutions across the island.

The Smile of the Heart

Host and guest in quiet grace,

A fleeting pause, a sacred space.

In every pour, in every part,

「心の微笑み」

亭主と客が向かい合いながら、自然の中で心地よい時間を過ごす。

茶道の所作を通じ、少しでも穏やかな心の在り方を考える機会になれば幸いです。

Through the gentle and deliberate movements of Chadō (The Way of Tea), participants will explore the values of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility that define this revered cultural tradition. Whether you are discovering tea for the first time or seeking deeper insight, this is a rare opportunity to learn from a true master in a uniquely peaceful environment.

Join us—to sip, to observe, to reflect— and to share in the quiet smile of the heart.
