Kimberly Kwa
Yoga Teacher,
Retreat Leader

Kim began practising yoga in 2008 as a means to rehabilitate both body and mind, and in the process found strength, mindfulness and self-compassion. Following multiple burnouts after years in the performing arts and education sectors, she set out to break the cycle of chronic stress. Initially enrolling in a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Seeds to deepen her own practice, she unexpectedly found herself teaching and hasn’t looked back since. Kim has since completed additional training in various styles, and is also certified in Yoga Therapy, Sports Massage, and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC).

Rooted in self-awareness and presence, Kim’s teaching encourages tuning in to breath, sensation, and intuitive movement—or stillness—over chasing complex postures. Her sessions reflect a deep respect for the body’s natural intelligence. Drawing from her background in therapeutic bodywork and FRC, she creates space for grounded, embodied experiences.

Kim volunteers with and coordinates activities for Pay What You Wish (PWYW) Yoga SG, one of the Karma Yoga Projects under Yoga Seeds. She is also currently pursuing qualifications in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), further expanding her integrative approach to wellness—blending evidence-based tools with the holistic wisdoms of yoga. She is passionate about empowering others to build sustainable, authentic practices that support their everyday lives.

A self-identified indoor cat, Kim enjoys cosy afternoons at home with a cup of chai, getting lost in a good fiction-read, and caring for her plants (that are definitely alive and well!)
